THE EARLY YEARS
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ohio University and had the good fortune to work as a Resident Assistant for three years of college. Building a community out of a group of randomly-assorted undergraduate students was such fun that I decided to spend all four years of my college experience administering to the needs of students as they transitioned from home life to college, then out into the “real world.” Having been born and raised in Athens County, I knew without question that this lovely town was the place for me. So after graduation I jumped into the field of property management at a local apartment community. During my time in this field, I purchased my first home from Liz Maule, which sparked my interest in real estate and in the process of helping others to find and buy their ideal home. In 2010 I obtained my Real Estate Sales license and have been selling ever since. In 2015 I obtained my Broker’s license and my GREEN real estate designation. Real estate laws, trends, and market conditions are continually changing, and I want to provide my customers the very best, most knowledgeable representation possible.
LEARNING BY EXAMPLE
I am very proud of my father’s military service in Vietnam in the late sixties. He returned from service as a decorated veteran and took up the family business at Rapp’s Wallpaper and Paint on Palmer Street. The old building was torn down years ago, but his example of hard work and warm customer service still resonates within me and the many other fans of Dad and Papaw’s store. I put that good old-fashioned elbow grease and loyalty into all of my client relationships.
Today, my husband’s military involvement has given me a new perspective on the challenges military families can face at home. Relocating for any job can be a difficult endeavor and our servicemen and servicewomen shoulder that burden, often again and again! Regardless of your branch or length of service, you are eligible for incredible benefits in financing and property insurance. Not to mention, you deserve the services of a professional to find you a comfortable home while you’re in the area, and to help you market and sell your home when duty calls you away.
LOCAL FOODIE & ADVENTURER
From bacon to bricks, from milk to music, our region is chock full of goodness. I take pride supporting our local economy through my food and business choices, including the Athens Farmer’s Market, Ohio is Home Jackie O’s, Zoe Fine Dining, Casa Nueva, Restaurant Salaam, Star of India, Space Cadet Soaps, and the list goes on and on!
I love the outdoors and spend as much of my time as I can spare hiking, swimming, and having adventures! I feel lucky to live in an area where I can drive about 10 minutes in any direction and find myself in the middle of the woods. Strouds Run offers the best local hiking and swimming you can get, but I am not averse to traveling up through the Hocking Hills or into Kentucky for new experiences. A few years ago my husband Eric and I journeyed to St. Vincent and The Grenadines to explore the region’s natural wonders by boat. You get a new perspective on the world by learning to navigate by wind and water, not to mention by getting up close and personal with coral reefs! The adventures continue in my own backyard; in recent years we built raised beds for gardens in our yard, and joined the National Arbor Day Foundation to plant fruit trees around our home.
